๐ง Modscription ๐ง
Modscription was a revolutionary new ordinals mechanic conceived by Zed Zeroth in early 2024:
๐ค What if we flipped the perspective on parent-child provenance from proof that children belong to their parent, to proof that the children have permission to send commands to their parent?
Modscription allows owners to modify their assets by sending micro-inscription commands via the bitcoin network. These modifications are immutable and universal, visible to all players across the planet the moment that the transaction confirms. This unlocks huge potential for onchain gaming and interactive ordinals.

๐ฑ Growing ๐ฑ
As the first-ever ordinals game to pioneer onchain commands via parent-child provenance, the tree structure of each bonsai is a literal representation of the parent-child family tree that is inscribed onto the original bonsai canvas inscription. By inscribing colored heart emojis (e.g. ๐โค๏ธ๐ฉท๐๐๐ฉต๐) and other emoji tools (โ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ช) you can design, color, and prune your bonsai with a high degree of precision. Double-clicking your bonsai displays a helpful “Editor Mode”. To get started growing your bonsai, please see our guides:

๐ฎ Multiplayer ๐ฎ
A bonsai owner can delegate control of its branches to other players. Branches can be inscribed onto different sats, which can be sent to other players who can start growing from that particular branch. These players can then choose to further delegate their own sub-branches. In our community’s collaborative bonsai, we now have five different people growing different parts of a single tree!
As such, Bitcoin Bonsai are the first multiplayer onchain inscriptions. Each ordinal acts as its own decentralized micro-network!

๐ฆ PROVENANCE ๐ฆ
All Bitcoin Bonsai are children of ้ๆจๆฏ, the Mother of Tree Spirits. ้ๆจๆฏ is inscribed onto Satoshi 161-717-111-717-161, a rare 2009 3D JPEG Sequence Palinception, sourced by esteemed sat-hunter @btcsplitter. ้ๆจๆฏ scans her children and always takes the form of the most modscribed bonsai.
Each bonsai canvas is inscribed onto the first of a set of one thousand 2009 JPEG Sequence satoshis, with a sat number that features the bonsai’s unique collection number. For example, Bonsai #001, “ใใไธ”, is inscribed onto Sat 153899938-001-999.

A total of 333 Bitcoin Bonsai have been inscribed onto the bitcoin blockchain. Released in three editions, each containing 111 canvases with a unique ambience and art style: Eternity, Tranquility & Integrity.

๐ Cycles ๐
Bitcoin Bonsai take ordinal chain-reactivity, chain-syncing, and “coordinals” to a whole new level.
The bonsai have a planetary rotational period of 144 bitcoin blocks (roughly 24 hours) and display “night mode” for ~8 hours of each 24-hour period.
Furthermore, the planet’s orbital period is synced to bitcoin’s Rare Cycle (also known as a “difficulty adjustment”) which lasts approximately two weeks. Each time a “Rodarmor Rare” sat is mined, a new year begins for the bonsai. Small buds start to grow, eventually blossoming into brightly colored leaves. After summer passes, leaves start to fall from the bonsai until they are grey and leafless. The cycle repeats roughly every fortnight.
